No Lights, No Cameras, Just ACTION

0
Since May of 2010, Hamilton Police Services have been monitoring the Hamilton area using the newly formed ACTION Teams (Addressing Crime Trends in our Neighbourhoods).  The extra presence on our city streets has gone a long way to helping us citizens reclaim our sense of security.

ACTIONTeam4, led by a tech savvy sergeant with an huge smile and 20 years on the force, have been tasked with patrolling the downtown core, and surrounding areas.  This posting has them dealing with some of the biggest ‘loogans’ that Hamilton, unfortunately, has to offer.  Whether it is the Hamilton Carnival Parade or Hess Village, or just another day in the core, these officers are out there doing everything in their power to make sure the streets and the city, are safe for you and your family.

Since May, they have had 5000 conversations, either community contacts or street checks.  It’s good to know everything these good officers monitor is on the decline:  Robberies – Down, Muggings – Down, Idiots messing up Hess Village _ Down,  People worried about crime – Down.

Hamilton, this is your police force at work.  The good men and women tasked with ensuring our safety and security have done a tremendous job and for that, offer them your thanks the next time one walks by.
